DAVIS SEES THE SOLUTION
Support A1+!«I am absolutely convinced that the Karabakh conflict can be settled 2006», the CE Secretary General Terry Davis announced in a press conference.
He repeated what he said several times: the conflict must be settled within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group and «the responsibility falls upon the Presidents of the two countries». «The settlement of the Karabakh conflict will contribute to Armenia, Azerbaijan and the Armenians of Karabakh», he said. According to Davis, the conflict must be settled according to the principles of territorial integrity and self-determination of nations.
By the way, according to him, by now these two principles are the obstacles for the settlement of the issue. Davis mentions that Azerbaijan has become member of CE and UN having Karabakh as its part, that's why the two principles became obstacles.
According to Davis, 5 years after become a CE member country, Armenia is on the right path, although there is still much to be done. As for the November 27 referendum, the CE Secretary General appreciated it as positive.
