Support A1+!Today leader of the National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukyan has published a statement, which says in part, “The fact that the Public Television breaking all the state laws does not furnish the population with impartial information but serves as an instrument for the authorities, is not a novelty.
Unfortunately TV companies in Armenia are guided by one center and lack of freedom of speech is one of the major obstacles for Armenia’s development. It is not a secret that one of the aims of the official sources is to split the ranks of the opposition and public forces.”
“The words about the 5th column said by me during the news conference in the Marriott-Armenia Hotel are distorted and presented in the air of Haylur news program. When asked why various opposition forces render press conferences separately I cited Franco’s words. When conquering Madrid he said, “We will go in 4 columns, the 5th is inside.” That is to say these were the people who being in Madrid supported Franco. In this case Madrid is the authorities and there are certainly our supporters among them. As for the 4 columns, they are the opposition and taking the opportunity I reiterate that opposition has never been so united as it is today,” Vazgen Manukyan said.
