Support A1+!President of the Constitutional Referendum Preliminary Works Coordinating Council Mher Shahgeldyan thinks that during the elections people have been very active as they realized the importance of the amendments. But after the journalists claimed that the passiveness of the people was unprecedented Mher Shahgeldyan noted that it was before midday; according to him after 12:00 people became considerably more active.
Mr. Shahgeldyan seriously claimed that in some polling stations there were even queues, «People were extremely active in many polling stations, this is undeniable, but perhaps there have been station with a lower level of activity».
When the journalists informed Mr. Shahgeldyan about the evaluation of the international observer - «General compliance marred by incidents of serious abuse», he was naturally content with the first part of the answer and he announced that it is quite a high evaluation.
By the way, Mher Shahgeldyan was clearly not in mood as he even contradicted himself first saying that «the voting was quite active» and then saying that «there was no total passiveness». He never uttered the sentence «The voting was free, fair and transparent». He had convened the press conference to inform that the finals results will be announced in two days.
