WHICH ARE THE INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS?
Support A1+!Today the 14 observers of the PACE and Congress of Local and Regional Authorities rendered a press conference about their impression of the Constitutional Referendum. They were convinced that 1.5 million people have not participated in the referendum and that the number is fabricated. “In my opinion the number 1.5 million does not correspond to reality, but I am sure that 782 people have said “Yes” to the draft”, Lord Tomlinson said.
The journalists asked the observers to comment on the international standards as the same evaluation was given to the elections of local governing bodies during which a woman was killed. The observers answered seriously that the international standards are those established by the PACE Venice Commission which can be found in the proper internet site.
The journalists informed the observers that the opposition of Armenia is discontent with their policy and tried to find out why they criticize the opposition. “We mean the Justice bloc and the National Unity which announced about boycotting but had representatives in several polling station”, Lord Tomlinson said.
As for the open ballot of Robert Kocharyan, head of the observers’ mission Tomas Jirsa said, “According to the international standards, the ballot must be secret. This is how we would advise everyone to vote next time”.
