ARMENIANS WILL NOT MAKE A REVOLUTION

Politics

“It looks as if a man tries to put on a suit, which is a size bigger for him,” participants of the discussion titled “Referendum and political and social possible ways of development” that was organized in the National Press Club stated.

According to director of Sociomert sociological center Anahit Adibekyan, Armenia like a new-born child will not feel well in these clothes, since it will become small or out-of-fashion in future. When commenting on the possibility of revolution the debate participants concluded that such event can hardly be expected to take place in Armenia.

Political scientist Levon Zubaryan considers that alleging the commitments to the CoE the incumbent tries to achieve own goals via the constitutional amendments. In his opinion, the amendments should be presented not by one but by several packages and in this case the CoE demands would be complied.

By assessment of psychologist Karine Nalchajyan the opposition was right to choose the way of boycotting the referendum. “The indifference of people shows that no one needs these amendments, neither the nation nor the authorities, who initiated them”, she noted.
