REBEL POSSIBLE IF THERE IS WISH
Support A1+!“Boycott is not offence,” head of the National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukyan stated today. In his opinion boycott is the only “political instrument” to control the outcomes of the constitutional referendum.
He considers that in case of proper control the real number of “yes” votes can be fixed although it will not give the ground to appeal the outcomes in the Constitutional Court.
The NDU leader stated they say “no” not only because the authorities submitting the constitutional amendments are not legitimate but also because no re-division of power will not take place. “The power will remain in the hands of the same people,” he said. Vazgen Manukyan does not agree wit the opinion that the reviewed constitution is progressive as compared to the operating one. According to him, the constitutional amendments if adopted can cause a lasting conflict between the President and Prime Minister.
Vazgen Manukyan is convinced that 750 000 “yes” votes are impossible without forging. Can it cause a rebel? In V. Manukyan’s words it is possible only in case the people are ready to support them. “Life experience shows that it is impossible to make people happy without their wish. If the nation goes out into the streets I am ready to stand in the first rows and accept the first blows,” he resumed.
