CRIMINAL PUNISHMENT FOR AGITATION MATERIAL
Support A1+!A number of organizations have decided to turn to the RA Attorney General Aghvan Hovsepyan to bring a criminal case against those who have violated the law during the agitation of the Constitutional amendments.
Two booklets have also been represented to the prosecutor. They were published during the «Yes» agitation. The application demands to find out and punish the authors of the «RA Constitutional Amendments» and the «Referendum 2005: 10 Questions about the Constitutional Amendments, November 27, 2005», as well as to confiscate the whole edition of the booklets.
The problem is that while publishing the booklets the RA Law on Publication has been violated According to the Law the author and the place of publication must be mentioned at the end of the booklet.
The «RA Constitutional Amendments» has another shortcoming too. «The unknown authors of the booklet had to represent the draft together with the provisions of the present Constitution mentioning what they have changed in the new draft», the letter to the prosecutor says.
As for the booklet «Referendum 2005: 10 Questions about the Constitutional Amendments, November 27, 2005», it is not known who has asked the questions and who has order the publication. «It turns out that we do not know who has answered the questions and who will be responsible for the lies and forgeries in the booklet», the authors of the application say.
The authors of the application mentioned that with this step they give Robert Kocharyan the last chance, and if the Constitutional Referendum is forged too, they will take up the role of the organizers of a “national rebellion wave”.
The application was signed by the member of the Armenian Writers’ Union Armen Hovhannisyan, head of the Fundamental Sciences Armenian Center Simon Kamsarakan, member of the administration of the Armenian Artists’ Union Armen Atayan, leader of the Armenia Aryan Union Armen Avetisyan, and head of the Armenian Social-Ecological party Armen Dovlatyan.
