CEC ADOPTED DECISION
Support A1+!During the usual session of the Central Electoral Committee the representative of the Justice bloc Felix Khachatryan was the only one who did not agree with the other members of the Committee who adopted a decision about the Constitutional referendum.
The decision was about the ballots, seals, registration of Mass Media representatives of observers, packing of ballots and the elimination of unused ballots.
If it weren’t for the objections of Felix Khachatryan, the decision would be adopted without any discussions in 10-15 minutes. The representative of Justice bloc to the Committee made them open the brackets of the decision. According to Felix Khachatryan, the adopted decision “has obvious contradictions with the law”. Referring to the contradictions Mr. Khachatryan meant the Electoral Code and the RA Law on Referendums.
For example, the notion of “empowered person” is not included into the Law on Referendum. Usually all the empowered people put their signatures on the packages of ballots subject to eliminating.
And how will the packages of unused ballots be sealed if there are no empowered people, and the observers do not have that authorization? In this case Mr. Khachatryan is convinced that “the observers are deprived of their rights in the electoral process”, and “the decision was made to continue the process of forging the referendum”.
Despite the discussion, Felix Khachatryan did not manage to affect the opinion of any of the Committee members and the Committee adopted the decision.
