Support A1+!OSCE PA rapporteur on Nagorno Karabakh Goran Lennmarker considers that the determination of Karabakh’s status is a priority in the conflict settlement.
According to Mr. Lennmarker, the settlement of the conflict will take the Armenian and Azeri authorities much time, since the leadership of both was elected by the “peoples preferring frozen conflicts”. He called the defense ministries of both states to “return home mine cleared”. “Nobody knows how many mines lie in the ground and how many people blow up on these mines every day”, he noted.
After the presentation of the report the seminar participants expressed opinion and asked questions. According to Leyla Aliyeva, representing the center of strategic and international studies, it is important that groups of liberals, which organize meetings and exchange opinions on future, have formed in the South Caucasus.
Some experts voiced opinion that presently neither Armenia nor Azerbaijan do fancy peaceful co-existence, the public opinion is distorted and international structures are incapable to settle the conflict.
