NATIONAL LIBRARY BOOKS NEED PRESERVATION

The Armenian National Library was not included in the Lincy construction project, however it badly need repair. However, despite the serious problems available the Day of Library was celebrated today.

The RA National Library was founded in 1832, but it received state status in 1919. According to director David Sargsyan, during these years the library was a big depository of books. To date 7 millions of books are kept in it, a great number of postcards, magazines and newspapers are lying in the archives.

David Sargsyan says the library employees by new books with their own funds or donations.

Many guests including the French Ambassador to Armenia were present at today’s event. Diplomas issued by the Ministry of Culture and the State Conservatory were handed.
