AMBITIOUS PLANS OF RPA YOUTH WING
Support A1+!It turns out that the youth wing of the Republican Party of Armenia is the most democratic among all the Armenian parties.
Anyway leader of the young RPA members Armen Ashotyan rendered a press conference to say that the wing has become a full member of DEMYC (European Democratic Community). The RPA became the 32nd member of the organization. The decision was taken after the DEMYC representatives visited Armenia last January. To note, the structure unites about 1 million of young people from 25 countries of the world.
It is interesting that the members of the organization are the young wings of the right conservative parties only. In Ashotyan’s opinion the power is divided between the socialists and conservators while the role on liberals is insignificant.
Georgia has joined the organization several years ago. Azerbaijan has been an aspirant for several years. However, the situation changed and it is not invited to participate in DEMYS sittings any more. In the middle 1990-ies Turkey was partly represented in the organization, however over the Cyprus problem and due to Greece’s efforts Turkey was expelled from the DEMYS. Presently the youth wing of the party headed by Erdogan is negotiating for the membership.
To note, besides bilateral contacts the RPA youth wing is going to submit their candidate for the post of deputy chair or secretary of the organization.
