TSAGHKADZOR TO BECOME TOURIST CENTER

Armenian Deputy Minister of Trade and Economic Development Ara Petrosyan stated today that 1 billion 677 million AMD was allocated for the development of the town of Tsaghkadzor.

The government intends to use the funds for advertising the town via the European TV Channels, equipping the infrastructures with modern means and settling some social and economic problems. In part, water pipes and roads will be repaired. Ara Petrosyan stated that the President has make some order regarding the development of the town in 2005-2007 to attract foreign tourists.

Last year over 260 thousand tourists visited Tsaghkadzor. During the first quarter of the current year the number of tourists reached 39 thousand. In the words of the deputy minister, this number will increase 10%.
