ALTERNATIVE DRAFTS WILL REMAIN ALTERNATIVE
Support A1+!“In our Parliament there are no serious discussions but mechanic decisions made”, said Deputy Arshak Sadoyan after his draft constitution was denounced. During the first reading 13 deputies were for it, 0 were against and 36 abstained from voting. According to him, everything became clear 2 days ago when his offer to postpone the first reading was denied. “The Venice Committee experts will come in June, and we had the possibility to reach an agreement before that”, explained the deputy.
By the way, Sadoyan abstained from voting for the United Labor Party draft. The latter also abstained from voting for the Sadoyan draft. «Although I like the ULP draft better than that of the coalition, it is unacceptable for us in some pivotal issues», said Sadoyan.
The ULP draft collected 19 people for it. No one was against, and 29 abstained from voting. According to ULP head Gourgen Arsenyan, the opinions about their draft are more positive, as “We have put on the basis of our draft our ideas about the future of our country, our ideas about the country in which our children will live in order not to blame us for creating a country where the system of government is of no use. That is, we thought of the coming generations”.
Asked the question of all those who vote for the coalition draft will face the blame of the coming generation Gourgen Arsenyan answered, “Ask the question to those people who have made the decision. Our fraction has voted against the decision”.
By the way, both Gourgen Arsenyan and Arshak Sadoyan are going to put their drafts into circulation from tomorrow and wait for the visit of the Venice Committee experts.
