AZERI SERVICEMEN RETURNED TO AZERBAIJAN

On May 7, 14.25 p.m. of the local time, at the Aghdam direction of the Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces' contact-line, the Nagorno Karabakh Republic State Commission on Prisoners of War and Missing People passed the Azerbaijani party servicemen Khayal Abdullaev, Khikmet Tagiev and Ruslan Bakirov. They were detained on February 15, 2005, to the north-east of the NKR while passing the demarcation line.
In the frameworks of its international obligations, the Nagorno Karabakh party informed the International Commission of Red Cross (ICRC) and OSCE Offices, accredited in the NKR, on the incident in time.
The passing of the Azerbaijani servicemen is realized at the decision of the NKR authorities, via the mediation of the ICRC Office in Nagorno Karabakh and the support of the Office of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Personal Representative after getting the corresponding consent of the Azerbaijani party.
During all the period of the servicemen’s stay in the NKR territory, the ICRC representatives regularly visited him.
