CHERNOBYL STILL DANGEROUS
Support A1+!April 26, 1986 an unprecedented catastrophe took place in the 4-th energy block of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. As result of the thermal explosions a great quantity of radioactive substances burst into the atmosphere.
2300 inhabited localities were polluted throughout the territory of 50 thousand square km. The number of victims reached 3.3 million; 1 million of them are children.
Today Ukraine marks the anniversary of the Chernobyl calamity. 19 church bells sounded at midnight and wreaths were laid to the memorial to the Chernobyl victims.
To note, one more catastrophe threatens Chernobyl. As reported by Newsru.com during the recent 4 years the technical condition of the sarcophagus of the 4-th reactor has considerably worsened. Wrecks have appeared on the walls, the general geometric structure has changed and the roof has sunk.
