«If higher education is essential for a municipal functionary, I think the President should be obliged to have such as well», one of the Yerevan residents said.

According to the acting Constitution higher education is not an essential term for those who run for President or deputy. Meanwhile 33% of the respondents state that education should become a primary qualification for these posts.

The acting Constitution says that individuals over 35 can run for President and over 25 – for deputy. 30% of those surveyed said that the age qualification should be a priority “The age of 35 is the proper age. While 25 for a deputy is too early. He should be no younger than 35”, one of the respondents said. “A deputy must be no younger than 35. He should receive education, serve his military service”, a man of about 60 said.

To note, all the young people surveyed adhered to the opinion that the age qualification fixed by the Constitution is normal. In the opinion of 12% of the respondent no qualification should be fixed. On of them even suggested the President be elected several times. 13% think that the limitations are necessary.
