The question of one of the Armenian journalists to the two Presidents was about the efficiency of the CIS structure. Vladimir Putin said that mutual economical or other relations are not regulated by means of the CIS structure, but it is the platform where the heads of the former Soviet Union countries can discuss general problems.

“The CIS countries on the whole have the same problems, and these problems are simply impossible to discuss in other structures”, said Vladimir Vladimirovich.

Robert Kocharyan said that CIS is usually compared to EU. But these structures are incomparable. Each of them has its own place. Kocharyan brought the example of two people having the same abilities and different ambitions, one of which is totally happy, while the other is completely unhappy.

Here Vladimir Putin interfered and said that the European countries are linked by means of EU, and CIS is a civilized and peaceful means of divorce.

Nevertheless, Robert Kocharyan, finishing his speech said that CIS solves the problems put forward. And it cannot be considered an unnecessary structure.
