ELECTIONS IN THE PARLIAMENT

Politics

From now on the Armenian Central Bank has a new President: the operating President Tigran Sargsyan was re-elected for a 7-year period. The “pre-election” phase lasted 1.5 days in the Parliament, during which the CB President was forced to thank the delegates several times, who praise him all the time. From the course of the “discussions” the result of the 2-hour elections was clear beforehand.

By the way, the ballot-box for the elections was put in the NA hall. But one of the conditions for democratic elections was not kept: the ballot-box was not transparent. There have been no complaints about the elections in the Parliament.

From the 131 delegates 92 took part in the elections. The 25 opposition delegates principally did not take part. The rest of the votes were distributes the following way. 86 were for, 4 were against, and 2 delegates had found it difficult to make a proper mark against the single name mentioned in the ballot-paper, so the two votes were considered invalid.
