An Armenian serviceman was killed in Karabakh overnight as Azerbaijani forces reportedly continued to violate the fragile ceasefire regime. According to Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry, Hayk Minasyan (born in 1996) received a fatal wound as a result of the enemy’s aggressive actions. The NKR Defense Ministry says on April 26 and on the night of April 27, Azerbaijani armed forces continued violating the truce along the entire length of the Line of Contact, intensively shelling Armenian positions and settlements. Azerbaijani troops used all types of artillery and military hardware in the process, including MM-21 (Grad) missiles, to fire at least 550 shots on Armenian positions. More intensive shelling was recorded in the northeastern section of the Line of Contact, with Azerbaijani forces targeting Martakert, Nerkin Horatagh and several other civilian settlements. In order to neutralize the aggressive actions of the adversary, the Karabakh army resorted to preventive steps, delivering targeted strikes against its advanced positions and fire points, causing it losses of personnel and military equipment, the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry said. The situation on the Line of Contact was relatively calm on Wednesday morning.
