Karabakh: Azerbaijan violates verbal ceasefire about 50 times
The operative situation along the entire perimeter of the Line of Contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces remained unchanged on the night of April 20, this according to Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry. Azerbaijan violated the verbally agreed ceasefire more than 50 times, firing from firearms of different calibers, including sniper rifles and 60-mm mortars. “Defense Army’s vanguard units continue to confidently carry out their combat duty and control the operative situation along the entire perimeter of the Line of Contact,” the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry said. A verbal ceasefire agreement to halt hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone was reached by the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides on April 5. Prior to that, scores of soldiers were killed and wounded from both sides in renewed clashes in the conflict zone.
