The year has been tragic in terms of protection of rights of consumers, alarms Armen Poghosyan, Chairman of the Union of Consumers. He regrets to say that until now it hasn’t been found out what was the reason for poisoning of children in kindergartens. “Water, food and anti-sanitary conditions were among possible reasons. It isn’t known which one among these was the real reason,” he noted. Armen Poghosyan has also sent numerous notes to Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan. He says the incidents will continue unless the previous ones are revealed. In spite of all this Armen Poghosyan notes that the quality of food has improved. Touching upon New Year shopping, Chairman of the Union of Consumers notes that in the market, especially in terms of nuts, there isn’t tangible price increase, but compared to the last two years the prices have increased by 10 percent. In order to refrain from food poisoning Armen Poghosyan advises out citizens not to heat up food more than twice and put into a refrigerator. “Surprisingly, the volume of retail essentially increases in December, but the stomach of a person is the same, isn’t it? We must be a little prudent.” He has one wish for the coming year- so that the rights of the consumers aren’t violated.
