Armenia to participate in Miss Planet international contest (video)
For the first time Armenian will take part in “Miss Planet” international contest, which will be held on September 6-12 in Tbilisi. “We would like the preliminary stage to be held in our country, but we didn’t manage it because of problems with finances and documentation,” noted Lusine Baghdasaryan, Director of “Top Model Armenia” association. There are representatives from 30 countries. 17-year-old model Dayana Davtyan will represent our country. She has been engaged in modeling for one year. “Besides the appearance, we have paid much attention to her inner culture, knowledge of languages,” highlighted Mrs. Baghdasaryan. Dayana noted that she is very happy to represent Armenia. “Of course, victory is important, but I think the most important is to present myself well.” In reply to the question what she wishes to the world, as this question is always asked at beauty contests, she answered, “I wish peace and kindness to the world.” She doesn’t consider the other participants of the contest to be competitors: she thinks that they will become friends. Dayana has already prepared pomegranate and other presents symbolizing Armenia for them. Like other beauty contests, this one also passes with intrigues, especially for our country, “Only recently we have been informed that a representative from Azerbaijan will also take part in the contest,” said Director of “Top Model Armenia” association. She has great expectations form our representative. Mrs. Baghdasaryan also noted that during the contest Dayana will present dresses of designer Faina Harutyunyan, also taraz (national garment) provided by “Teryan” cultural center. The expenses of the participation in the contest are covered by “Top Model Armenia” association and model’s family. At the end of September “Miss Europe” contest will be held and now negotiations are underway to get a chance for Armenia to take part also in that contest.
