Equilibrist: If Hranush Hakobyan wishes I can develop tightrope walking in Armenia

Equilibrist and writer Vladimir Hakobyan has been invited to give a performance in Artsakh. The father of seven children gives shows several times a month but the money is not sufficient to support his large family.  He has to walk around and look for a job. “Minister Hranush Hakobyan does not support us when guests arrive in Armenia. Instead of supporting singers, she can give me an opportunity to introduce our culture to foreigners. Nor does she provide me with a place to teach pupils,” he said. Vladimir Hakobyan has written six books. Two of them are about tightrope walking. His seventh book will be published soon. Today there are several equilibrists in Armenia. The 68-year-old man has been walking tightropes since he was a toddler. He says he needs to concentrate every time when he walks a tightrope. “Girls are better seen from above…  I try not to look down fearing that something bad will happen to me,” he said. “If Hranush Hakobyan wishes I can develop tightrope walking in Armenia,” he added.
