Armed police officers searching vehicles in Yerevan (video)
Armed police officers are stopping all vehicles in Yerevan following the tragedy that occurred in Armenia’s second largest city of Gyumri earlier on Monday.
Six people were found dead in one of the house of Gyumri in the morning in a shooting rampage. All members of the family, including a two-year-old child, were killed with the use of firearms. Another member of the family, a six-month-old baby, is now in hospital.
The suspect is Valeri Permyakov, a serviceman of the Russian military base stationed in Gyumri, is now on the run. Police are taking measures to determine his whereabouts, RFE/RL’s Armenian Service reports.
